<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable fast processing in an image encoding apparatus for encoding motion picture data using one estimation mode from among a plurality of estimation modes. <P>SOLUTION: In a plurality of divided blocks of macro block, the image encoding apparatus has: a first estimated pixel producing part for producing a first estimated pixel from a reference pixel corresponding to the divided blocks according to a first estimation mode; a second estimated pixel producing part for producing a second estimated pixel in response to a value estimated from the reference pixel corresponding to the divided blocks according to a second estimation mode when the second estimated pixel is produced from the reference pixel corresponding to the divided blocks; and a determination part for deciding one estimation mode by comparing an estimated value responding to the first estimated pixel value with an estimated value responding to the second estimated pixel value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
