<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skin area extraction method for precisely extracting a region of skin from an image. <P>SOLUTION: The skin area extraction method includes: an area determination step S10 for detecting a feature point of a face from an image, and determining a sample region estimated as the skin of a person based on the position of the feature point; a color difference model generation step S20 for dividing respective pixels in the sample region into some of a plurality of groups according to the value of luminance, and searching a color difference model showing the appearance frequency of each color difference of the pixels for each group; a first two-dimensional probability distribution generation step S30 for obtaining first two-dimensional probability distribution composed of the group of the probability of the respective pixels by obtaining the probability of being the skin of a person about each pixel based on the color difference model belonging to the group corresponding to the luminance of the pixels among the color difference models for each pixel; and a skin region extraction step S40 for extracting the region of the skin in the image based on the first two-dimensional probability distribution. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
