PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that useless power consumption cannot be reduced and usability is bad because, in a conventional technique, in an information recording apparatus with a face detection function mounted thereon, the useless power is consumed when the face detection function is not effectively used. SOLUTION: When it is determined that no problem occurs even though power consumption is suppressed on the basis of information as to whether or not a moving image is recorded, information as to whether a face detection function is effective or ineffective, and information as to whether or not a face is detected, control is performed to reduce the power consumption. Thereby, in an information recording apparatus with the face detection function mounted thereon, without damaging the feature of the face detection function, since useless power consumption is eliminated, it is possible to provide the information recording apparatus in which usability is good and power consumption is small.
