PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a travel support device which can support travel appropriately in accordance with a road type determined by information obtained by a navigation system with respect to the road type. SOLUTION: A travel road type determination part 10 in a travel support ECU 1 generates a navigation road type signal corresponding to a navigation information road type being a road type of a travel route of a user's vehicle which is determined on the basis of navigation information. A travel support suppression part 12 determines the suppression of travel support on the basis of the navigation road type signal output from the travel road type determination part 10 and various signals. A support content determination part 11 determines support contents for the vehicle. The support content determination part 11 not only stops the use of navigation information and but also suppresses travel support according to an output of a support suppression signal from the travel support suppression part 12.
