摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an accuracy of automatic white balance adjustment. SOLUTION: A region segmenting section 21 divides an image imaged by an imaging unit 1 into a plurality of small segments. A standard deviation calculating section 22 and an average value calculating section 23, calculate a standard deviation and an average value of image signals of pixels for each color component with respect to the pixels included in each of the segments, respectively. A flat area extracting section 24 extracts the segments as flat areas, the segment the standard deviation of which against the average value is within a predetermined limit with a noise amount when the average value is regarded as a value of the image signal in a noise model, as a reference, based on the noise model presenting correlation between the value of the image signal and the amount of noise that an imaging element 11 generates superimposed on the image signal. A WB adjusting section 5 adjusts a white balance of the image imaged by the imaging unit 1, based on a calculated result of a white balance gain of the flat area by a WB gain calculating section 25.
