PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition which imparts excellent wet gripping performance and wear resistance to a tire when it is used in the tire, and to provide a tire using the same. SOLUTION: The rubber composition contains (A) a natural rubber and/or a diene-based rubber, (B) an inorganic filler, (C) an organosilicon compound and (D) a softening agent. The organosilicon compound (C) has at least one Si-O bond and 1-10 sulfur atoms in the molecule and further has at least one nitrogen atom at a position separated from a silicon atom by 3 to 8 atoms.
