PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a handrail to be easily installed at an opening of a sliding door irrespective of a vehicle as a new one or existing one. SOLUTION: A hinge 34 is extended between the outside-a-vehicle-body end part 28 of a vehicle side door shutter box 26 and a sliding door 30 at a closed state of the sliding door, while, at an opened state the sliding door, the hinge 34 protrudes out as to be bent to the outside of the vehicle. Therefore in a state that a pole 36 with its topmost end 36a being fixed on the hinge 34 comes settled between the outside-a-vehicle end part 28 of the vehicle side door shutter box 26 and the sliding door 30 (32), the sliding door 30 (32) is kept closed, and does not exceed the width dimension of the vehicle. On the other hand, if the sliding door is in a state of being opened, the pole 36 protrudes out, together with the hinge 34, to the outside of the vehicle, and is set at a position excellent for use as a handrail. Thus it becomes possible to arrange a handrail 24 for vehicle sliding door without adding any substantial refurbishment to the vehicle body side, and to easily install a handrail at an opening with a sliding door irrespective of the vehicle as a new one or existing one.
