PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To support division of a class diagram allowing for generation of instance diagrams respectively having a roughly evenly divided number of instances. SOLUTION: A class diagram division support method includes: a reference class determination step of using a relationship information storage means storing, for each relationship between classes of a class diagram, identifiers for relation source and destination classes, and relationship information indicative of a multiplicity of the relationship, to determine a reference class to serve as a reference in a relationship within each of divided partial class diagrams, for each division patterns with the relationship assumed as a point of division of the class diagram; an estimate calculation step of calculating, for each division patterns, an estimate of the number of instances of each class within each of the partial class diagrams based on the multiplicity of each relationship relevant ranging from the reference class to the each class, while assuming an estimate of the number of instances of the reference class, as a predetermined value; a total sum calculation step of calculating a total sum of the calculated estimates, for each division patterns; and a selection step of selecting the division pattern with the relatively small total sum of the estimates.
