Provided are a positive electrode for producing a nanoaqueous-electrolyte battery having a high discharge capacity and excellent cycle characteristics and a process for producing the positive electrode. The positive electrode comprises a positive current collector constituted of a metal and a positive active-material layer (positive active-material part) (10B) which undergoes electron transfers between the current collector and the active-material layer (10B). The positive active-material layer (10B) comprises particles (1) of a positive active material and a solid electrolyte (2) with which these particles (1) have been consolidated, some of the contour of one of adjoining particles (1) extending along some of the contour of the other. This positive electrode is produced by coating a positive current collector with a raw-material sol obtained by mixing particles of a positive active material with a substance which undergoes condensation polymerization upon heat treatment to become a solid electrolyte, heating the coated current collector, and then pressing the coated current collector.
