Provided is a navigation device whose map screens and menu screens excel at convenience. When a display control unit (15) is to display a menu screen by means of operational information from an operation force input unit (10), the aforementioned display control unit uses that information regarding the travel condition of a mobile object which is obtained from a route search unit (12) and from an automobile position determination unit to decide the display configurations of a map screen and of the menu screen. A map display generation unit (16) generates the map screen in accordance with that information regarding a display configuration which is obtained from the display control unit (15). A menu display generation unit (17) generates the menu screen in accordance with that information regarding the display configuration which is obtained from the display control unit (15). A display unit (21) displays the map screen from the map display generation unit (16) and the menu screen from the menu display generation unit (17).
