The liquid is divided into two liquid partial streams before fed to the liquid container, where a first partial stream is fed to the liquid container and a second partial stream is guided past into a bypass towards the liquid container and is mixed with the first partial stream from the liquid container in the pump. The pump is a jet pump. The method comprises feeding a liquid to a liquid container with a free liquid level, dosing the chemical additives into the liquid container, and sucking-off the liquid provided with the chemical additives from the liquid container using a pump. The liquid is divided into two liquid partial streams before fed to the liquid container, where a first partial stream is fed to the liquid container and a second partial stream is guided past into a bypass towards the liquid container and is mixed with the first partial stream from the liquid container in the pump. The pump is a jet pump and the second liquid partial stream forms a propellant jet, with which the first liquid partial stream is sucked-off from the liquid container. The liquid is fed into the liquid container, a prechamber and a mixing chamber, in which the chemical additive is dosed, passed from there through or to an intermediate wall. The liquid passes a flow stream between the intermediate wall and the bottom of the liquid container, where the liquid in the lower half of the liquid container is sucked-off. The liquid is discharged and quashed from the liquid container using an outlet. The discharge of the liquid stream is occasionally stopped and then the time is measured until a determined volume of the discharged liquid is collected or the liquid stream is directly measured. The liquid is a retentate of a filtering device and the retentate is partially led back to the suction side of the pump conveying in a direction to the filtering device. An independent claim is included for a device for dosably mixing a liquid with a chemical additive.</p>
