<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for forming an image based on desired glossiness. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: an image forming means which forms an image on a recording medium by using a color recording agent and a transparent recording agent; a designating means which designates glossiness of the image formed by the image forming means; a storage means which characteristic information of a recording medium in accordance with the type of the recording medium is stored; and a control means which controls image formation using the transparent recording agent by the image forming means based on the glossiness designated by the designating means and the characteristic information of the recoding medium used for image formation by the image forming means out of the characteristic information stored in the storage means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
