PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amplifier capable of setting the gain of the amplifier within a prescribed range even when circuit characteristics change owing to temperature change or the like. SOLUTION: The amplifier 3 is a Doherty amplifier and includes: a distributor 16 for distributing input signals S1 into input signals S3 and input signals S4; a main amplifier 12 for amplifying the input signals S3; a peak amplifier 13 for amplifying the input signals S4 when the signal level of the input signals S1 is equal to or higher than a prescribed value; an output section 17 for combining and outputting output signals S5 outputted from the main amplifier 12 and output signals S6 outputted from the peak amplifier 13; and a control section 19 for setting the gain of the amplifier 3 within the prescribed range by controlling the gate bias voltages Vgm and Vgp of both of the main amplifier 12 and the peak amplifier 13 by roughly linear relation.
