<p>A microscope system which, when used to observe a specimen using the microscope composed of a stand and a body which can be removably mounted to the stand, can be used with enhanced convenience and can provide improved observing environment. An invention applicable to a microscope. A microscope (11) comprises a body (21) and a stand (22), and the body (21) is adapted to be removably mounted to the stand (22). An objective lens (33), an image forming optical system (35), a CCD (36), a small-sized monitor (39), and a battery (45) are provided to the body (21) in order that the body (21) alone can function as the microscope when the body (21) is removed from the stand (22). When the body (21) is mechanically connected to the stand (22), the body (21) and the stand (22) are electrically connected to each other by a connector (46). An observation image captured by the CCD (36) is supplied from the body (21) to the stand (22) through the connector (46) and is displayed on the monitor (12).</p> |
