<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified metal complex which exhibits an excellent catalytic life when used as e.g. an electrode catalyst for a fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The modified metal complex is obtained by subjecting a mixture containing (1) a metal complex and (2) a polycyclic organic compound having a skeleton with two or more heteroatoms in the same ring other than a purine base to a modification treatment until the ratio of the weight loss between before and after the treatment falls within the range of from 1 to 95 mass%. The modified metal complex is obtained by subjecting a mixture containing (1) a metal complex, (2) a polycyclic organic compound having a skeleton with two or more heteroatoms in the same ring other than purine base, and (3) a carbon material to a modification treatment until the ratio of the weight loss between before and after the treatment falls within the range of from 1 to 90 mass%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
