<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell causing no deterioration in cooling efficiency or reaction efficiency even if both surfaces of a separator having a blocking passage are used as a passage of a cooling medium or reaction gas. <P>SOLUTION: A fuel cell includes: a power generation cell having an electrolyte membrane; and a separator facing to the power generation cell. A gas passage is formed in a face on the power generation cell side of the separator, wherein a grooved passage having an inlet port blocked by one blocking member and a grooved passage having an outlet port blocked by other blocking member are alternately aligned in stripes in the gas passage.
