<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for desulfurizing/absorbing a flue gas, capable of efficiently treating sea water having absorbed a sulfur component present in a flue gas in a tower constituting the apparatus for desulfurizing/absorbing a flue gas, and a method of treating a flue gas. <P>SOLUTION: The first apparatus 10A for desulfurizing/absorbing a flue gas relating to Example 1 of the apparatus for desulfurizing/absorbing a flue gas that makes SO<SB>2</SB>present in a flue gas 11 to contact with sea water 12 and washes the SO<SB>2</SB>, includes a contact section 13 that brings the flue gas 11 to contact with the sea water 12, a tower-bottom section 15 for storing an absorbent liquid 14 for a sulfur component having absorbed SO<SB>2</SB>present in the flue gas 11 by making the flue gas 11 to contact with the sea water 12 in the contact section 13, and an ACF tank 17 that is formed of an ACF layer 16 comprised of ACF and is disposed in the tower-bottom section 15. By utilizing the catalytic action of the ACF by submerging the ACF tank 17 in the absorbent liquid 14 for a sulfur component, the oxidation of a sulfite ion present in the absorbent liquid 14 for a sulfur component is accelerated and the sulfite ion is efficiently oxidized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
