<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem, wherein there is a need to use instruments having a complex, enlarged apparatus (a mechanism for attaining synchronization of time between a first measuring instrument and a second measuring instrument, a GPS receiver, or the like). <P>SOLUTION: The first measuring instrument 200 transmits an electric signal 12 to the second measuring instrument 300 via a power supply line 10. The second measuring instrument measures an arrival time difference Δts required from the reception of the electrical signal to the reception of a noise signal 13. The first measuring instrument measures a total time T, required from the transmission of the electrical signal to the reception of a noise signal 14; acquires the arrival time difference Δts; and locates a ground-fault position through Xs=C×(T-Δts)/2, where Xs is the distance from the first measuring instrument to the ground-fault position and C is the velocity of a signal propagating through the line. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
