摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct image blur due to vibration of a recording section and camera shake in consideration of a difference in influence of image blur between a wide-angle side and a telescope side. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises a zoom lens whose focal distance is variable, and a recording section for storing an image. In the imaging apparatus, either a filter output or a predetermined correction center value is set, the filter output being obtained by detecting shake applied to the imaging apparatus and passing the detection output through a filter whose cutoff frequency is variable. On the basis of the set output, a motion of the image caused by the shake is then corrected. Furthermore, the imaging apparatus determines a stationary state in accordance with a camera shake component, caused by camera shake, in the detection output, and determines a vibrating state of the recording section in accordance with a vibration component, caused by vibration of the recording section, in the detection output. When it is determined that the imaging apparatus is in the still stationary, the cutoff frequency of the filter is changed to be higher than a cutoff frequency for correcting the camera shake component, and when the focal distance of the zoom lens is equal to or longer than a predetermined distance, the filter output is output.
