PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus that can easily performs photography of a smiling face as a main object, and also photography of even expression (including a smiling face of different level from a main smiling face) other than the main smiling face without time and labor. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus (11 to 26), which automatically performs photography when detecting the smiling face of a subject, includes a detecting means (20) and a control means (20). The detecting means detects expression other than the smiling face or the movement (the gesture) of the subject after the number of photographed smiling-face images of the smiling-face subject reaches a reference number.
