<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce energy required for discharging water by correctly estimating the amount of water remaining in a discharge pipe connected to a fuel cell and controlling water discharge in a fuel cell system. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system includes a fuel cell, a discharge pipe for receiving the gas and water discharged from the fuel cell through an upstream inlet and discharging it to the outside from a downstream outlet, and a water discharge means for forcibly discharging the water remaining in the discharge pipe to the outside. The fuel cell system further includes: a remaining water amount-estimating means for estimating the amount of water remaining in the discharge pipe based on the temperature of gas near the inlet of the discharge pipe and the temperature of gas near the outlet of the discharge pipe; and a water discharge control means for discharging water from the discharge pipe by driving the water discharge means when the amount of remaining water estimated by the remaining water amount-estimating means exceeds a given tolerance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
