<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controlled mold preheating device having a shape matched to a shape of the mold for preheating the whole forging mold. <P>SOLUTION: Thermal conductivity is increased by combining electric heaters 2 and 6 each having the shape matched to the shape of the forging mold and matrices 1 and 5 to achieve highly tight contact of a heat source to the mold surface. By this way, the mold is heated without leakage of air heated to a high temperature.
