<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument and a method ensuring as highly reliable measurement as possible, and in particular, for detecting a defect in an object to be inspected non-destructively and in a non-contacting manner by using eddy current measurement or leakage flux measurement, or a similar instrument and a method for detecting conductive particles in a liquid flowing through a pipe member. <P>SOLUTION: This instrument for measuring induction includes a self-inspection unit (62). The self-inspection unit (62) is structured so as to execute systematic and quantitative inspection on a signal processing function of a signal processing unit and/or systematic and quantitative inspection on a transmission coil structure and/or a reception coil structure autonomously or in response to an external request, and/or so as to execute calibration of the signal processing unit in response to an external request by using a calibration standard (96) substituting for the transmission coil structure and/or the reception coil structure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
