<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit breaker in which a current limiting effect is enhanced by extending arc at circuit-opening and damages of contacts are suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: The circuit breaker 1 is provided with a first fixed contactor 1 having a first fixed contact 21, a second fixed contactor 3 having a second fixed contact 31, a movable contactor 4 which has a first movable contact 41 opposed to the first fixed contact 21, and a second movable contact 42 opposed to the second fixed contact 31. The movable contactor 4 has a parallel electric path portion 43 which is nearly in parallel to a straight line connecting the first fixed contact 21 and the first movable contact 41, and the direction of current in the parallel electric path portion 43 and the direction of current from the first fixed contact 21 to the first movable contact 41 are in reverse direction. When the movable contactor 4 is open circuited, the arc flowing between the first fixed contact 21 and the first movable contact 41 is extended by a magnetic field of electric current flowing in the parallel electric path portion 43, thereby, a high current limiting effect is obtained and the damages of the contacts can be suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
