PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a load acting on a wind turbine during an angle change process at forced feathering of a blade. SOLUTION: A horizontal axis wind turbine comprising a rotor including a hub 1 and blades 2, and a forced feathering means executing forced feathering action instantaneously changing the blade in angle to angles of feathering for urgently stopping the rotor includes a variable angular speed suppressing mechanism adding resistance in pitch angle change motion of the blade in a limited pitch angle range (for example 10-30 deg). A mechanism comprising a brake 5 and a cam 6, and a mechanism comprising a rotary damper 9 and a gear 10 can be applied as the variable angular speed suppressing mechanism. As a result, too low variable angular speed at an initial stage of the forced feathering action of the blade and too high variable angular speed at a middle or a later stage are eliminated, and a load acting on the wind turbine is reduced during the angle change process at forced feathering of the blade.
