PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for simply detoxifying, in a short period of time, PCB residues in a container and an internal member constituting an electric apparatus without by-producing harmful dioxins after removal of PCB from the electric apparatus and for enhancing energy efficiency of and industrial economy of the PCB detoxification. SOLUTION: The system for detoxifying the apparatus using PCB for decomposing PCB residues in the container and the internal member constituting the electric apparatus after removal of PCB from the electric apparatus includes a catalyst filling device 4, a catalyst vessel 3 housing the catalyst filling device, a microwave device 12 irradiating the catalyst filling device with microwaves, a heat insulation device 15 for the container, a cooler 13 for a mixed liquid taken out from the container, a heater 14 for the mixed liquid returned to the container, a heat pump 16 moving the heat of cooling water used for the cooler to warm water used for the heater and circulating flow passages 17-20 circulating the mixed liquid.
