PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a woody composite material which is highly impact-resistant and not susceptible to abnormality e.g. cracks or breaking, and can hardly be distorted. SOLUTION: This woody composite material is made of a material including woody material chips containing at least 10 wt.% of slender woody material pieces of Japanese cedar and Japanese cypress, and a binder. In addition, the woody material pieces stacked as almost orientated in the longitudinal direction, are compressed and heated in their stacking direction, and consequently, are bonded together with the binder.
