PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mass-producibly provide the stable release valve function, while improving compressor performance by reducing an operation load by preventing an opening delay in a release valve, in a scroll compressor. SOLUTION: This scroll compressor includes a compression mechanism part for compressing a working fluid by a compression space 11 and a sealed vessel for forming a delivery pressure chamber 2f for delivering the compressed working fluid. A fixed scroll 5 has a release valve device 15 for opening a passage so as to communicate the compression space 11 with the delivery pressure chamber 2f when pressure of the compression space 11 increases more than preset pressure. The release valve device 15 has a release flow passage 15i, a release valve 15d arranged so as to open-close the release flow passage 15i, a valve pressing body 15h for adding elastic pressing force to the release valve 15d and a retainer 16. The valve pressing body 15h has an elastic part 15e freed in a state of closing the release flow passage 15i and compressed in a state of opening the release flow passage 15i by the release valve 15d.
