PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silencing method in a spraying machine and a silencer for the spraying machine, for maintaining the silencing effect over a long period, by surely filtering a spraying material mixedly existing in exhausted pressurized air. SOLUTION: Before attenuating a discharge sound of the pressurized air by a silencing means, for preventing the deterioration in the sound reducing effect by clogging in the silencing means of a spraying material mixedly existing in the pressurized air, the spraying material mixedly existing in the pressurized air is separately cleaned, and afterwards, the discharge sound of this cleaned pressurized air is attenuated by the silencing means, and is discharged in the atmosphere.
