PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slit device for a metal bar which easily maintains a clearance in a blade thickness direction and an overlap in a radial direction between an upper blade and a lower blade of a rotary blade for cutting a metal bar within a proper range, can solve the problem regarding deterioration in quality or residual strain of a cutting surface, prevents deterioration in efficiency of cutting work, effectually, highly-accurately, and stably executes the measurement work of the clearance and overlap, and facilitates installation of a guide plate. SOLUTION: The slit device for a metal bar is configured as follows. A metal bar 4 is cut by a pair of upper/lower rotary blades 3 respectively comprising an upper blade 2 and a lower blade 2'. A set of the rotary blades 3 is arranged so as to be spaced apart in a width direction of the metal bar 4 in order to cut the metal bar 4 into a prescribed width. A rotary-blade cassette body 7 is assembled by respectively adjusting the clearance in the blade thickness direction and the overlap in the radial direction between the upper blade 2 and the lower blade 2' of the rotary blade 3. A set of the rotary-blade cassette bodies is arranged so as to be spaced apart in the width direction of the metal bar 4.
