The vehicle has an electrical supply network e.g. plug socket (6), provided with an electrical consumer. An energy storage (3) supplies energy to an electric drive (1) and the electrical supply network. A charge contents monitoring and regulating device (5) monitors and regulates charge contents of the energy storage and the supply network. The charge contents monitoring and regulating device determines a charge quantity necessary for minimum distance coverage of the vehicle. The monitoring and regulating device provides a residual amount of charge to the electrical supply network. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for operating a vehicle (2) a computer program product comprising a set of instructions to perform a method for operating a vehicle.
