PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate a comprehensive analysis of lipids, which is hardly separated by TLC, with a high throughput. SOLUTION: A plurality of lipids included in a sample are separated by TLC (S1) for transferring to a PVDF film from a TLC plate subjected to constituent separation (S2). The transferred PVDF film is stuck to a MALDI target plate by a conductive tape (S3), and a matrix is uniformly applied onto the surface (S4). A two-dimensional range on a sample thus prepared is measured by an imaging mass spectrograph to acquire mass spectra for each of a number of measurement points (S5). By creating a specific two-dimensional distribution image of m/z, based on the mass spectra, the distribution of lipids of molecular species having the same type and different structure that could not be separated by TLC can also be visualized.
