PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a false signal generator for a gas sensor, capable of generating precisely and spuriously a delayed state of a detection signal output in a deteriorated state of the gas sensor, and affected hardly by a noise. SOLUTION: The lean-side maximum value is output as a voltage value VipOut of a false signal, during a period from a T4 when the first delay signal (voltage value VipRL[RLw]) delayed from a reference signal by an RLw time reaches the lean-side maximum value (VipRLmax), up to a T6 when the second delay signal (voltage value VipLR[LRw]) delayed by an LRw time longer than the RLw time reaches the lean-side maximum value.
