PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable valve gear capable of changing a valve action angle regulating state in every cylinder or in every valve by simple constitution, in an internal combustion engine, an internal combustion engine controller related thereto, a variable valve type internal combustion engine, and a method of changing a variable valve gear regulating state. SOLUTION: A driving force of an intake cam 28 is transmitted to an intake valve, when a space between a driving force transceiving member 40 and a slider gear meshing member 44 provided in an output arm 14 is brought into a fixed state by key members 48, 50, and an valve action angle of the internal combustion engine is continuously regulated by a function of the variable valve gear 2. The valve action angle gets impossible to be continuously regulated by the variable valve gear 2, since the driving force of the intake cam 28 is not transmitted as shown in (b), when the key members 48, 50 come off from the slider gear meshing member 44 to be brought into a nonfixed state as shown in (a). The valve action angle regulating state is thereby changed in every intake valve provided with a resting cylinder. The problem to be solved is solved by this manner. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
