PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten an arm length of an action lever to make an operation device compact or to make a cleaning tank thin, in the operation device for a drain valve of pulling up a pull-up material such as a ball chain by turning the action lever, to open the drain valve. SOLUTION: This operation device 42 for the drain valve 30 in the cleaning tank 10 includes the flexible linear pull-up material 32 with one end connected to the drain valve 30 in the cleaning tank 10, a cleaning handle 44, and the action lever 46, the other end of the pull-up material 32 is fixed to a fixing part in a position adjacent to the action lever 46, the pull-up material 32 is supported by an arm 50 of the action lever 46 in a position distant from the other end fixing position, the pull-up material 32 is pulled up to an upper side of the other end fixing position, while moving relatively the pull-up material 32 along an axial direction by the arm 50 in accompaniment to the turn of the action lever 46, and the drain valve 30 is opened thereby.
