摘要 Disclosed is a nonaqueous electrolyte battery equipped with a sheath material, a positive electrode stored within the sheath material, a negative electrode that is stored within the sheath material such that it is spatially separated from the positive electrode and that includes an active material containing a titanium composite oxide, and a nonaqueous electrolyte contained within the sheath material. The titanium composite oxide includes a monoclinic ß-type titanium composite oxide as the main phase, and when the main peak integral intensity of the monoclinic ß-type titanium composite oxide according to a wide angle X-ray diffraction method having CuK a-rays as the X-ray source is 100, the relative value of the integral intensity of the main peak that occurs at 2?=25.1 to 25.5o attributed to at least one sub phase selected from anatase type TiO2 and H2Ti8O17 is 30 or less. In addition, the titanium composite oxide has a crystallite diameter of 5 nm or greater, as calculated from the main peak of the monoclinic ß-type titanium composite oxide obtained with the wide angle X-ray diffraction method, and it has high capacity and an outstanding large current characteristic.
