The invention relates to a transport device (10) for use when mounting interior component modules (12) in an aircraft, comprising a frame (18) and an interior component module support unit (30). Said interior component module support unit (30) rests on the frame (18) and is designed to be connected to an interior component module (12) which is premounted outside of the aircraft in order to transport said interior component module (12) with the help of the transport device (10) to place in an end mounting position in an aircraft fuselage element. At least one part of the interior component module support unit (30) can move in relation to the frame (18) such that one interior component module (12) connected to the interior component module support unit (30) can move both horizontally and vertically in relation to the frame (18).
