<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical information reader capable of suppressing an influence of blurring in imaging. <P>SOLUTION: Detection brightness distribution Y corresponding to a correction reference line L orthogonal to a correction code C along a width directionβis detected on the basis of a pixel signal from an imaging part 22 by a control part 21. An estimate brightness distribution X corresponding to the correction reference line in the case of no blurring in imaging is estimated on the basis of a prescribed width value W.
