<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation monitor confirming operation of a detector by direct response of the detector to a radiation, without using a bug source. <P>SOLUTION: The radiation monitor includes a radiation detection element, including a radioactive material existing naturally, a photomultiplier for converting light from the radiation detection element into an electric signal, and a wave height discriminator for discriminating a peak value at which a peak appears from the electric signal output from the photomultiplier.
