PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability of switching operation accompanying size reduction and thinning of a key top. SOLUTION: A key switch device 10 has a broad-shaped key top 20, a key-reinforcing mechanism 30, a switch mechanism 40, and a support plate 50. In the key reinforcing mechanism 30, first to third wire members 60, 70, 80 are arranged so as to reinforce the broad-shaped key top 20 as a whole, and are arranged so as to reinforce the lower face side of the key top 20 as a whole so that the respective wire members 60, 70, 80 do not cross each other. The first wire member 60 is mounted so as to extend and exist across substantially over the entire length of the longitudinal direction of the key top 20. The second wire member 70 is mounted so as to be along the longitudinal part, between the switch mechanism 40 and one end of the longitudinal direction of the key top 20. The third wire member 80 is attached so as to be along the longitudinal part between the switch mechanism 40 and the other end of the longitudinal direction of the key top 20.
