PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal compound that has a negative dielectric anisotropy with a large absolute value, shows a high liquid crystallinity and is excellent in compatibility with other liquid crystal materials, and a liquid crystal composition and a liquid crystal display element using the same. SOLUTION: A fluorobenzene derivative represented by formula (I), the nematic liquid crystal composition using the same and the liquid crystal display element using the same are provided.
