摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the moving speed of an observation object more easily and reliably. SOLUTION: A light source 22 intermittently emits illumination light to observation objects 12, and a camera 26 images the observation objects 12 for an exposure time longer than the intervals of the blinks of the illumination light so as to obtain observation images. A speed calculation part 42 detects the images of the two observation objects 12 by pattern matching from the pictured observation image for one frame, and calculates the moving speed of the observation objects 12 from the distance of their images and the intervals of the blinks of the illumination light. By obtaining the moving speed from the observation images and the intervals of the blinks of the illumination light, even if the frame rate of the observation images cannot be known, the moving speed can be easily and reliably obtained.
