PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material that does not deform, serving as an alternative for a colloidal crystal gel, and to provide a method for producing the material. SOLUTION: A colloidal crystal structure is provided in which a colloidal crystal comprising a great number of self-assembled and periodically arrayed particles is fixed with a polymer of monomers, and the particles are embedded by the polymer, while there is no liquid medium in between the particles.
