PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supporting method for processing a camshaft capable of performing a process of a tap hole, keyway or the like on a shaft portion and a shaft end portion of the various different camshafts, and to provide a device therefor. SOLUTION: The camshaft 10 is laid on a shaft supporting portions 60, 130 and a positioning determination portion 90. A cylinder 100 is biased and a piston 102 is made to displace and a piston rod 104 is actuated to recede. Thereby, a swing arm 116 is made to oscillate and the other camshaft 10 impinges against a projection portion 38 when a tip portion is brought into pressure contact with the end of the camshaft 10. The positioning determination portion 90 and pressure portions 70, 140 are biased against the camshaft 10 which is positioned by the projection portion 38 and then the camshaft 10 is firmly fixed to position from upside.
