PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition exerting excellent dry grip performance in a wide temperature range, i.e. from low temperature range to high temperature range, when used in a pneumatic tire. SOLUTION: The rubber composition includes: 100 pts.mass rubber component containing≥50 pts.mass aromatic vinyl-conjugated diene copolymer containing 25-50% aromatic vinyl bond; and 1-100 pts.mass resin prepared by copolymerizing a monomer (I) represented by formula (I) and a monomer (II) represented by formula (II) [wherein R is hydrogen, or 1-8C linear or branched alkyl; X is hydrogen, 1-8C alkyl, 6-8C aryl, 2-8C alkenyl or halogen; Y is 1-8C alkyl, 6-8C aryl, 2-8C alkenyl or halogen, provided that X and Y are not identical to each other].
