PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft seal spacer (lantern ring) capable of taking out from a grand portion of a fluid machine easily. SOLUTION: The lantern ring 43 is used in an adjuster valve 10 which is provided with a casing 20 configured to make it possible to circulate a fluid, a plug stem 31 which is freely slidably supported by a valve shaft insertion hole 22 provided in the casing 20 and the first packing 41 and the second packing 42 which are received in a packing received recess portion 22a concentrically provided in the valve shaft inserted hole 22. The lantern ring 43 is arranged on an upper portion of the first packing 41 received in the packing received recess portion 22a in order to restrain the fluid from being leaked from the valve shaft inserted hole 22. The lantern ring 43 includes a cylindrical body 43a provided with a through-hole 43d and collars 43b, 43c extending on one end and the other end of axial direction of the body 43a in radial direction.
