PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal head which is excellent in heat radiation, can effectively prevent occurrence of tailing, and can save power even by a small heat capacity. SOLUTION: In the thermal head 6 which includes an insulating ceramic layer 61, a heating layer 62 with a heating part 623, and a heat storage layer 63 formed between the ceramic layer 61 and the heating layer 62 in a lamination form, the heat storage layer 63 is structured of a first heat storage layer 631 formed on the heating layer 62 side, and a second heat storage layer 632 formed on the ceramic layer 61 side and having a larger heat capacity and a higher thermal conductivity than those of the first heat storage layer 631.
