PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To flexibly comply with installation conditions such as an installation view point, an installation vision direction, and the like, and to carry out calibration precisely. SOLUTION: This method has the steps of: sorting the overall camera group into a plurality of groups; photographing a calibration board arranged so as to enter a common visual field of each group by a camera of each group; performing of corresponding to a characteristic point of the calibration board on a camera image concerning the camera of each group; finding a view point coordinates-vision direction vector in each camera based on correspondence information obtained at the above step concerning the camera of each group; converting the view point coordinates-vision direction vector in all the cameras into a common coordinate system by using a common camera between the groups as a clue; and optimizing the view point coordinates-vision direction vector in all the cameras computed at the above step so that an error is minimized in the common coordinate system.
