Provided is a solid-state image pickup device that can transfer signal electric-charges during exposure periods, and that is equipped with multiple unit cells (16). The multiple unit cells (16) are provided with a photoelectric conversion membrane (8) that is installed on a p-type semiconductor substrate (1), a signal electric-charge collecting means that collects electric-charges generated by the photoelectric conversion membrane (8), and a signal electric-charge integrating means that accumulates electric-charges collected by the signal electric-charge collecting means. The signal electric-charge collecting means has an n-type electric-charge collection-diffusion layer (5) installed within the p-type semiconductor substrate (1), and a pixel electrode (7) connected electrically to the n-type electric-charge collection-diffusion layer (5) and the photoelectric conversion membrane (8). The signal electric-charge integrating means has an upper-face p-type diffusion layer (2) installed within the p-type semiconductor substrate (1) so as to surround the n-type electric-charge collection-diffusion layer (5); and an n-type electric-charge integration-diffusion layer (3) installed within the p-type semiconductor substrate (1) so as to come in contact with the upper-face p-type diffusion layer (2), below the n-type electric-charge collection-diffusion layer (5). |
