The invention relates to information technologies for delivering audiovisual and advertising materials over the Web to audiovisual content users. The system for delivering audiovisual content to users comprises a multimedia device that is provided with a user interface for receiving and displaying audiovisual content and is connected to a network; furthermore, the user interface additionally comprises a module for receiving and displaying advertising materials and a module for interacting with the website(s) of the audiovisual content provider(s), and the user interface is a web application created on a webpage of the website of an audiovisual content provider. The technical result is a system and a method for providing users with access to audiovisual materials from different content providers using the same user interface, thereby making it possible to form a user (audiovisual content consumer) interface taking into account the user's wishes, to bind each particular content consumer to geographical and demographic parameters and to view advertising materials in the interface specially designed for this purpose.
